The Orphan’s Hands
The Orphan’s Hands
The Orphan’s Hands rescues orphans and vulnerable teens from human trafficking and helps transform fragile lives into strong leaders within their communities. Through a four-year program, teens who begin as orphans experience the life-changing power of Jesus and the love of a family before ultimately becoming missionaries to the same lonely, poverty-stricken villages from which they were rescued.
At age 16, many orphaned children are forced to leave the familiar confines of their orphanage and face life alone, making them especially vulnerable to human trafficking and exploitation. The Orphan’s Hands intervenes during these critical years, providing safety, family, stability, and the opportunity to encounter Jesus. At Vatra Village, teens live in one of six family homes where a family-based housing model provides the security and consistency needed to begin healing from trauma, abuse, and abandonment.
As they grow, these young men and women become ministers in their own communities. They feed the homeless, visit orphans, and bring the Gospel to lonely and impoverished villages throughout Moldova. They have the unique opportunity to return to the orphanages where they once lived and bring hope, joy, love, and the message of Jesus to children who are walking through similar circumstances.
Prayer Request
Pray for the financial provision and support needed to open two new children’s homes for ages 4–15 in the city of Ungheni. Ungheni is strategically located near the Romanian border and serves as a connection point for 73 surrounding villages, which currently have no social assistance available to children and families in need.
