Gunnar and Svava Gunnarsson serve with Loftstofan Baptistakirkja in Kópavogur, Iceland, where Gunnar serves as lead pastor.

Loftstofan is an international church made up of people from many nations and backgrounds. Its mission is simple: to know Jesus and make Him known. The church seeks to faithfully preach the Word of God, make disciples, share the Gospel, develop Christian leaders, and build a healthy local church that can strengthen and multiply Gospel ministry throughout Iceland. Beyond simply establishing a church, Loftstofan desires to help build spiritual infrastructure that can serve churches across the country for generations to come.

God has continued to grow and strengthen the church, both numerically and through the development of new leaders and ministries. The church is increasingly looking beyond its own congregation through church planting, evangelism, and efforts to help establish healthy churches in other parts of Iceland.

Prayer Requests

• Pray that God would continue to open doors for the Gospel in Iceland and give the church boldness, wisdom, and faithfulness in proclaiming Christ.

• Pray for the continued spiritual growth of Loftstofan and for God to raise up mature pastors, elders, deacons, ministry leaders, and church planters from within the congregation.

• Pray especially for new church-planting efforts and opportunities to establish healthy, biblically faithful churches in communities throughout Iceland.

• Pray for wisdom as the church grows and considers the staffing, facilities, and resources needed for the next season of ministry.
