This Week at The Rock | Generous Living

The Bible's teachings with regard to a lifestyle of giving and generosity, are not summed up by the idea that, "If I give 10% of my total income then I am being obedient with regard to my giving."  Our current teaching series will not be a discussion of whether or not tithing is an Old or New Testament teaching, whether 10% should be calculated from your gross or net income, or whether or not you can be considered a member of the Rock Church Family based on your financial contributions. 

Instead, our church family will spend a few weeks discussing the instructions we received from the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 8-9 which direct us to be generous with everything we have.  We are instructed to share not just our money, but our time, energy, abilities, and lives with other people in order to further the cause of Christ in their lives, as well as our own.  Someone who lives generously is not focused on 10%, they are focused on using the resources and abilities that they have at their disposal to share God's love with the people that surround them (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

You are warmly invited to join with our Rock Church Family as we explore a lifestyle of living generously!   We meet every Sunday morning at Meadowdale High School (6002 168th St SW, in Lynnwood.) Dress is casual, the coffee is tasty, and you are always welcome!
