Thank You Volunteers

Thank you KidsTown volunteers!  You do such important work for our Rock Church Family!  There are very few ways that we can spend our lives that will have more meaning than the time we spend sharing the love of Jesus with a child.  You are so appreciated - and not just by your church family:

 Then he put a little child among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, "Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes not only me but also my Father who sent me." - Jesus

 As a follow-up to our meeting yesterday (July 18, 2010) we wanted to remind you that due to the budgetary issues that the church is facing at this time, we will not be able to provide free KidsTown t-shirts to our volunteers this year.  However, if you would like a t-shirt, we can purchase them for $10 each.  Just mail a check into the church office (12310 Hwy 99, Suite 225, Everett, WA 98204) or drop it in an offering box on Sunday mornings with your T-Shirt size written in the memo line!

 Additionally, we wanted to ask you to take a moment to consider the information that you share on Social Networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Buzz, etc.  We've put together some guidelines that we would like all of our KidsTown volunteers to follow with regard to social networking sites, and we would appreciate it if you took a moment to review them now and give them your consideration.  (KidsTown Social Networking Guidelines)

Finally, thank you again - SO MUCH for all that  you've done and all that you keep on doing!  It is unlikely that a child in Baby Boulevard will fondly remember all the times you changed their diaper in the nursery. Playground preschoolers may be unable to recall the clever hand motions you taught them to songs about brave Old Testament heroes like Joseph and David. Clubhouse kids might forget their Bible every Sunday and never memorize a Bible verse regardless of how many pieces of candy we offer as persuasion. However, the Bible promises us that "nothing we do for the Lord is ever useless!" (1 Cor.15:58) Children in KidsTown may not remember the exact words you used, or the Bible verses you helped them learn, every diaper you changed, every goldfish you handed out, every hug, every song, maybe not even your name - but if we allow God to work through us, they will remember that we made them feel loved, and that we did it on behalf of a God that we say loves them.  Thank you for fulfilling this vitally important role in our Rock Church Family - you guys are awesome!!!
