This Sunday at The Rock | Piecing it Together

This Sunday, we're talking about the Holy Spirit!

Many followers of Christ get nervous when a church starts teaching about the Holy Spirit.  Some of us worry that a Sunday morning focused on the Holy Spirit might result in a sideshow-like atmosphere with people doing stuff that looks crazy and sounds weird.  Some of us worry that the teaching may discount the Holy Spirit's powerful nature, that he may be presented of as a part of God's being that no longer has relevance in the everyday life of believers.  Sadly, our worries are sometimes well-founded.  Many high-profile personalities who tout themselves as spiritual leaders have misrepresented God and His work through the Holy Spirit in the interest of personal gain.  Our experience sometimes teaches us that a discussion of the Holy Spirit will be confusing and divisive, but here's some good news: it doesn't have to be that way!

Take a deep breath, intentionally drop your guard a little, and fearlessly embrace the opportunity to take another look at what the Bible has to say about the Holy Spirit.  You won't get a profound theological understanding of the Holy Spirit in 60 minutes on Sunday morning, but you will get the chance to consider a few of the ways that the Bible teaches that He wants to be a very real and active part of your everyday life!  Spend some time mulling it over with your Rock Church Family this week!  We meet at Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood at 10 am every Sunday.  Dress is casual, coffee is tasty, and you are always welcome!
